Bear Awareness
Sellars Creek Ranch Trek is located in the backcountry of the Blackfoot Mountains. Black bears are one of many wild animals in the area. While we have not had any trekker/bear encounters in the past, we know that bears pass through the ranch boundaries from time to time. We have seen evidence that they coexist with us and other property owners in the area. Consider bringing bear spray or an air horn for the main camp area and for your trekking company. Following Sellars guidelines for securing garbage is essential. Other precautionary measures may be considered. We have included a Forest Service document on being bear aware. Please read this information and prepare accordingly.
